In Praise of the Dishrag

I finished the dishcloth I was making (see previous post) and I am astounded at how much nicer it is than my old store-bought ones. It is thick and textured and very absorbent. I haven't had the heart to use it on a dish yet, but I've been using it for a hand towel and pot holder and discovered that it works well in those capacities too. I should call it the everything kitchen rag. I am for sure going to make more, and soon. It really knit up quick, its just that in between working on it I made another hat for Caps for a Cure and knitted a scarf for my boss. I had a yard sale this past weekend and so I used the time between customers to finish it. Several people asked me how much I wanted for my yarn! My husband said I would have done the same. He's probably right!

Glad you like the dishcloth. I've made a one for my sister but have yet to make any for myself. :) I'll have to get on it.

I would now ask how much the yarn was too. :)

I think I paid $7.99 for the one pound skein of Sugar'n cream and $5.96 for the one pound cone of Peaches'n cream. Peaches'n cream is a little less expensive and it it made in the US. Sugar'n cream comes from Canada. If you buy it by the ball, Peaches'n cream is usually $1.23 per ball and Sugar'n cream is usually around $1.99 per ball.
